FAQ

Can I try Rack before I buy?

Yes. The 7-day trial is the full Rack, and the six standalone Suite plugins are free. Rack is a digital download and all sales are final, so please try it first.

Is the free Suite changing into a paid product?

No. The standalone Suite plugins are free and complete. Rack is a separate purchase for working with those tools together.

Do I need the free Suite installed?

No. Rack is self-contained and installs separately. Your standalone Suite plugins stay installed and available.

What does my Rack purchase include?

SW Rack with its built-in EQ, Comp, Color, De-Ess, Gate and Limit modules. One-time purchase, no subscription.

Can I load 3rd party VST plugins into Rack?

Not at this time. Rack uses its built-in Signalwork modules.

Does switching between Rack instances work in every DAW?

Rack instances can discover each other when your DAW runs them in the same process. Hosts that isolate each plugin instance may prevent this. Availability depends on your DAW’s plugin hosting settings.

What do I need to run Rack?

Mac: macOS 11 or later, Apple silicon or Intel, with an AU or VST3-compatible DAW. Windows: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit x64, with a VST3-compatible DAW.

How do I install Rack?

Quit your DAW before installing. On Mac, run the installer. On Windows, extract the download and copy the entire SW Rack.vst3 folder into C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3. Reopen your DAW and rescan plugins if needed.

How do I get my license after purchase?

Use the purchase key from your receipt on the Get your license page. Download SW Rack License.swlicense. On Mac, save the file first, then drag the saved file onto SW Rack, or use Import license and Choose file. You can also paste its text. On Windows, use Choose file or paste the license text. To recover a lost license, enter the same key again.
